Day 1:
The capital of Slovakia – arrival to Bratislava, sightseeing in the historical city centre, walk by the Danube River and visit of Devin Castle towering over the confluence of the Danube and the Morava rivers. Get to know the story of Bratislava and dive into history as well as present of our beloved metropolis.
Day 2:
After breakfast in the hotel you get to discover the most beautiful castle in Male Karpaty and one of the most preserved castles in Slovakia – Cerveny Kamen Castle. In the 16th century, it was rebuilt into a monumental fortress. Its fortification system represented the top of the military defence of the time. Originally a royal castle from the 1st half of the 13th century was a part of border fortifications of the western borders of Hungary. We are in a wine region of Slovakia, so we certainly will not miss a visit of a family winery right in the heart of Modra vineyards. 300-years old wine cellars invite you for a degustation of the noble beverage.
Day 3:
After breakfast in the hotel, let‘s travel about 150 km to the heart of Slovakia and to the most beautiful Slovak town ever – Banska Stiavnica. The city will charm you by its picturesque stone streets, distinctive atmosphere, and sunset view from Kalvaria, with a steaming cup of tea in Klopacka tearoom. What once used to be a miners‘ land thanks to its occurrence of precious metals, now turned into the most popular Slovak town. You will simply fall in love with this scenic town. You also get to discover a traditional Slovak family brewery or to bathe in „tajcha“ – an artificial water reservoir founded by medieval miners. Even the night spent in a hotel will be an experience! We will see the largest mobile nativity scene in Slovakia – the wood carved Bethlehem of Banska Stiavnica. It depicts the history, development and traditions of the historical mining town.
Day 4:
After breakfast we will move from Stiavnicke Vrchy to Velka Fatra National Park. We will explore Vlkolínec, a folk architecture reservation. A beautiful historical village, untouched by modern constructions, offers magnificent landscape view of Velka Fatra. Then we will move to Liptov region, pass by Liptovska Mara water dam, and arrive to Nizke Tatry National Park. In the afternoon, you will surely enjoy a genuine relax in Aqua park and Wellness centre in Liptov or you can use your free time to take a look around the surroundings and enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the nearby coffee houses in Liptovsky Mikulas.
Day 5:
After breakfast we will move from Nízke Tatry to Slovakia‘s most valued treasure – Vysoke Tatry Mountains (High Tatras). You can enjoy the beauty of our nature during a walk to Strbske Pleso Lake, where you can admire the grandeur of the mountains from a nearby terrace with a cup of coffee in your hands. Afterwards, we will move to Spiš region, where you can explore its jewel – Spiš Castle, one of the largest ruin castle systems in Central Europe. The castle dates back to the 12th century, covers an area of 4 ha and was built on a travertine hill as the border fort of the Hungarian state. After the castle tour, we will move to a nearby town Levoča, an urban conservation area and cultural centre of the Reformation in Slovakia. It is a home to St. Jakub Church, which hides a treasure inside – a remarkable altar, made by Master Pavol, considered as the biggest altar in the world.
Day 6:
After hotel breakfast we will move north. Pieniny National Park, the smallest but definitely amazing national park, is situated on the borders with Poland. There we will sail on Dunajec River by distinctive wooden rafts, admiring the stunning scenery of the national park. We will return to Bratislava in the afternoon.
